HOTEL YLLASHUMINAFamily owned by Tovi Quist, a one time Olympic skier, and his wife Meeri, the hotel is a unique log cabin hotel with a colony of cabins built in original Finnish style huddled around a central building housing a restaurant, sitting room and bar. Meeri’s uncle, Aapi Akaslompolo (sic), started the hotel by adding a loft to his barn as overnight accommodation for skiers and the latter’s description of the place as humming (humina) has stuck ever since. Each cabin has 4 beds, 2 of which are on an upper gallery, private WC/shower, telephone, radio, hair dryer and drying cupboard. |
