A NEW YEAR BY LAKE INARI

The kaleidoscopic mix of cultures in Nellim with its Inari, Skolt and Northern Sami roots and the possibility of the Northern Lights swirling around over the pine forest, make a New Year here something of a culinary & festive riot. Being close to the apex of 3 zones also means celebrations go on quite a bit! .

WILDERNESS HOTEL, NELLIM

The Wilderness Hotel Nellim is owned and run by the Lappalainen family: Jonko and Mari. Here they have converted the old school house into a home for themselves, their twins and travellers looking for adventure and tranquility. 12 simply furnished rooms and apartments with private WC/shower; fresh food from the lake or forests and an authentic Sami family welcome characterizes the hotel. As well as a restaurant and a traditional Kota where you eat on one night of your trip, there is a traditional wood burning sauna.
