Dancing with Elves at Harriniva

DAY 1

FLY TO YOUR DREAMS Fly from London’s Heathrow via Helsinki with Finnair, Santa’s official airline, to Kittila in Finnish Lapland. On arrival your Lapp guide takes you by private coach to Harriniva in the heart of Lapland where magical spirits make all your dreams come true. At the hotel make straight for your room where your thermal clothing will be ready so you can play in the snow straight away before enjoying a warming berry juice and buffet supper.

DAY 2

MUSH & SNOWMOBILE THROUGH THE FOREST After breakfast it’s time to meet Harriniva’s very own huskies who live just a few minutes walk away. There are cute baby ones, big and not so big ones – all sorts, each with their own name and all excitedly barking at the thought of pulling your sleigh through the forest. Stop for a warm berry juice around an open fire before swapping your husky team for a snowmobile and continuing along a different trail back to the hotel. Grown- ups mush and snowmobile 2 per dog team/snowmobile whilst children ride in sleds behind your Lapp guide.
FIND & MEET SANTA After lunch each family takes a once in a lifetime journey out into the forest along a trail known only to your guide and marked by lanterns hanging in the trees at the end of which you discover the Old Lady of the Woods. She guides you to a giant log cabin where Santa lives [the rest is a secret until you meet him]. Whilst waiting for your sleigh children can enjoy special mini- snowmobile rides; toboggan; learn to snow shoe, tandem ski, try fishing through the ice as well, decorate the Christmas tree and bake traditional gingerbread cookies.

DAY 3

MEET RUDOLPH & A SHAMAN This morning is a phantasmagorical mix as you meet Rudolph, Dancer and Prancer in their corral; their herders in their traditional tepees and a Shaman who tells how Rudolph learnt to fly. You take a fairy tale ride in a reindeer sleigh; sit your reindeer driving exam [pass rate 100%] and be awarded your licence along with a ‘Crossing the Arctic Circle’ diploma.
TAKE YOUR DREAMS HOME Afterwards pack up your dreams and transfer [lunch box on board] to Kittila for Finnair scheduled flights to Heathrow where you arrive at 17.10 local time.
